Brussels. 21.01.2020. The NAPOCTEP project will be present at the famous International Tourism Fair that it will take place from the 22nd to the 26th of January

Those days, Íñigo Bilbao, the NAPOCTEP coordinator at Finnova will be in the space that the Castille and Leon government has given to the project in the pavilion number 7. It is should be noted to highlight that one of the aims of the Castille and Leon government is to attract more international tourism. For that reason, it is important to be present in this common space so, destiny and project can be known for the potential national and international tourist.

From there, the project will be presented as a growth alternative in rural areas based on their rich cultural heritage. A tourism that, at the same time, contributes to boost the economy of those spaces, to keep the environment and the creation of the employment. Moreover, one of the aims and needs in the rural and hinterland areas is to seasonally adjust the tourist offer.

Apart from Finnova, other beneficiaries of the project such as: Turismo del Centro de Portugal, la Fundación SIGLO, la Fundación Santa María la Real y SEGITTUR will also be present there. Furthermore, some destinies like Ciudad Rodrigo, Almeida or Alba de Tormes, with an extraordinary Napoleonic heritage and involved in NAPOCTEP project will offer their own tourist products at their stands.

NAPOCTEP, whose goal is to create tourist routes following the Peninsular War is a young project. It was created in July 2019, is funded by EU funds and goes to FITUR to become known and to contact with cultural tourism agents in order to involve them in a touristic project.

It is expected to overcome last year’s 250.000 attendance forecast and for that reason this is an incomparable setting to reach those purposes.
