The project was present at FITUR 2020, which took place from 22nd to 26th of January at IFEMA (Madrid) The statistics shows a growth in the international participation and it is foreseen a higher visitors’ rate. The NAPOCTEP assessment is very positive.
Brussels. 28.01.2020. Positive. That is the adjective that summarizes better the NAPOCTEP’S participation at the 40TH International Tourism Fair in Madrid. A fair that finished last Sunday.
The aims have been reached. As NAPOCTEP is a young project, its purpose was not to sell the product, because it is still being created. Its purpose was to be known. How? By having meetings with tourist agents, public and private institutions and national and international tour operators in order to create a contact network. This network will be very useful to be known, create synergies and have good examples of practices in the tourism and international projects areas.
Regarding the public sector, it is important to highlight the meetings with different politicians from A Coruña, Burgos, Soria, Álava, Gipuzkoa or Alicante deputations. And some towns such as: Alba de Tormes, Aranda de Duero, Bailén or Ciudad Rodrigo. It is also important to highlight the meeting with Cristina Moreno, the General Secretary of the Federation Towns from Madrid.
Regarding the private sector, the meetings with different types of hotel establishments, the Cigales’s wine route, El Primer Edecán; which organizes guided tours to battlefields or the companies MMS Mountain or Kolotrip; which organize tourist guides by bicycle, were also very important.
Last but not least, there were meetings with other beneficiaries of the project such as SEGITTUR or Fundación Santa María la Real.
According to the first statistics, Castille and Leon has increased a 30% its commercial agents at FITUR. These are excellent results both for the provincial government and for the tourist project that it advertises, NAPOCTEP among them.
